Carol Hasse is founder of Hasse and Company, Port Townsend Sails, since 1978. She and her crew have made over 4000 sails from start to finish at her Pt. Hudson loft. Inspired by 40, 000 cruising miles, Hasse has focused on making Cape Horn worthy voyaging sails. Carol Hasse is a founder of Port Townsend’s Wooden Boat Festival, a judge at Victoria’s Classic Boat Festival, periodically judges for Cruising World’s Boat of the Year competition at the Annapolis Boat Show, and is a regular presenter at US Sailings Safety at Sea Seminars, offshore cruising seminars, boat shows, yacht clubs and cruising clubs. Hasse remains active in sail training aboard vessels from 25ft to 101ft from the Salish Sea to offshore passages and is devoted to sharing the skills and joys of cruising under sail. Hasse has cruised locally on her Nordic Folkboat since 1979.
